Govenor Pat Quinn Signs Law to Speed Up Foreclosures

A new law to speed up the  Illinois’ foreclosure process was recently signed by Gov. Pat Quinn.  The law is designed to help restore neighborhoods and property values by shortening the the time homes sit.  This law will accelerate the long wait period and get

foreclosed homes quickly back on the market. Foreclosures can take up to two years but the ramifications of this law are intended to get foreclosures on the market in months.

Chicago Real Estate Prices and Sales Climbing

According to a recent analysis from RE/MAX and compiled by Midwest Real Estate Data, LLC there seems to be a clear recovery in Chicago Real Estate thanks to a strong 2012.

The Chicago metro area which consists of a seven county region had 89,039 unit sales. This is an increase of 27% from 2011. This total is the largest increase in sales numbers since 2007.
